Lauren Yoon is a senior playing tennis for Emory University in Atlanta, GA and is studying applied mathematics and economics. She began playing tennis when she was 8 years old because she was inspired to follow in her older brother’s footsteps. Once she started taking the sport more seriously, her parents took her to tournaments almost every weekend all over the South.

At home, she trains at Knoxville Racquet Club and 3D Performance. During her high school years, she attended Webb School of Knoxville where she helped secure Webb’s 9th consecutive State Championship. In 2021, she also helped Emory win the DIII Nationals tennis team title by winning number 3 doubles with her partner Ana Cristina Perez. Lauren’s younger sister, Audrey, will also be playing college tennis for Claremont Mckenna, which is one of Emory’s rival schools.

This year, their teams will face each other at the ITA Indoors in March and hopefully at the NCAA tournament in May. In her free time, she enjoys making digital art, traveling to South Africa, watching Marvel movies with her family, and taking care of her puppy, Mooshu.
